The Cyber Operations Intro Course (COIC) provides a foundational introduction to cyber operations concepts and technical skills required for both offensive and defensive training pipelines. The course is designed to establish core knowledge of enterprise systems, networking, and operating environments that underpin modern cyber operations.
In COIC, students build baseline technical proficiency across operating systems, networking, and enterprise domain fundamentals, while gaining exposure to how adversary activity manifests across these systems. Course content establishes the technical context required to understand later Red Team and Blue Team operations and prepares students for more advanced, instructor-led training.
Delivered in a self-paced format, students typically complete the course in five days or less, progressing through structured lessons and guided labs focused on system setup, network fundamentals, and enterprise environment concepts. Hands-on exercises reinforce how common tools and configurations are used within realistic cyber training environments.
The course concludes with a timed certification exam that validates understanding of core technical concepts and cyber operations fundamentals. Successful completion of COIC is intended to prepare students for entry into advanced cyber operations training, including instructor-led Red Team and Blue Team courses.
